Cognitive behavioral therapy seeks to change maladaptive thinking leading to change in affect and behavior. The goal of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is not to diagnose a person with a particular disease, but to look at them as a whole and decide what needs to be fixed.
SMART Recovery is a hands on approach that subsititues science for superstition. SMART employs a variety of tools and techniques to help individuals gain independence from addiction and addictive behaviors. Participants are encouraged to learn and use specialy designed tools in order to work towards a healthy and fulfilling life.
